Expect established health tech players and well-capitalised AI companies to acquire promising clinical AI startups specifically for their governance capabilities, not just their algorithms. The acqui-hire logic shifts from “they have great models” to “they have models we can actually deploy in regulated environments.”

For Indian health tech founders eyeing global markets, this is both a warning and an opportunity. Building governance-first gives you a moat that pure technical performance cannot provide.

Vendors caught without these capabilities when enforcement tightens will face expensive retrofits or market exclusion.
